Processing a credit card can result in different types of issues that may not always be obvious and as such we’re going to list the most common causes (and solutions) below. You can also directly click on the specific issue you are encountering by clicking on the menu to the left of this text.
Why is my credit card is not being accepted even though I have ample credit on the card and/or the card is a good card?
Although you may have ample credit on your credit card please note that authorizations on the cards can still fail a number of reasons completely unrelated to how much credit is available on the card. For example the card could be declined because it’s outside of your normal spending patterns. It could be declined because the card doesn’t allow online purchases. We’ve seen all kinds of random reasons for cards to be declined that should very well be accepted.
Please note that for security reasons the credit card companies only give us a code to say if the card is accepted or declined, for security reasons they do not tell us why a card is declined. So as much as we’d love to assist you in troubleshooting the issue as to why a card is being declined the best option is to contact your credit card company and they will be able to tell you exactly why a card has been declined.
Why am I seeing the too many attempts warning?
For security reasons to protect both you and us the software limits how many failed attempts can be done on your accounts. For you it’s to prevent your credit card company from potentially incorrectly deeming your card as fraudulent for repeated failed attempts, which could even result in you having to go into your local branch with proof of identity to reactivate a card. Credit card companies are on the lookout for people trying to make purchases with freshly stolen cards and too many failed attempts is one of the ways they use to try to detect this type of theft. Therefore if your card is being declined two or three times please stop using the card and either contact your credit card company to get more details as to why it’s declined or use another card.
If you do see this message then please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you in resetting it. This has to be done manually so that we can confirm with the individuals why this precaution is in place to avoid them continuing to try the same card to potentially further exasperate the issue.
Why am I charged an extra fee that is not shown in your billing system?
We will only ever charge what we show in the billing system. If you see any additional fees then these are being added on to your card by your credit card company and NOT us. For example some credit cards will charge an added fee for online purchases. Some will charge if you are not located in the same country as us. Whatever the reason this is done by your credit card company and we don’t see or receive any of that fee. It is entirely between you and your credit card company in which case we would recommend contacting them to determine why they are charging you the extra fee and how to resolve it.
